On the site of the former ironworks in Geislautern, Peter Abel and his son-in-law Peter Schäfer found the company as a traditional milling business, which is still owned by the company today. Even back then, they were among the pioneers of a new industry.

Fritz Claus Schäfer clearly has a keen sense of what bakers want. As the driving force behind the Abel + Schäfer mill in Geislautern, he begins producing ready-made mixes for bread and cakes in 1958 and founds the KOMPLET brand. This innovation transforms the company, founded in 1892, in a way that no one could have imagined before.

Something special!
KOMPLET Altenburger was our very first bread mix. It was and still is made from a special type of rye that has a remarkable aroma due to its terroir. Added to this is a sourdough that enhances this wonderful flavour through its natural fermentation. Together with wheat, it is a rustic all-rounder for sweet and savoury toppings, popular with young and old alike

In 1966, Sté. Complet is founded in Forbach, France. The introduction of the KOMPLET and Complet brands to the French market begins.
Where coal was once mined, a new site for another production facility is being built on the former mining grounds. In addition to the existing range, a wide variety of products for the French market are developed and produced here.

Abel + Schäfer / KOMPLET was the first company in Europe to launch a bake-stable whole milk cold cream in 1966. With its delicate, aromatic flavour, KOMPLET Crème Pâtissière is one of the best-selling products in this product range.
The high-quality whole milk cold cream powder with vanilla flavour contains only milk fat and is therefore suitable for making buttercream and butter pastries.

The establishment of the subsidiary KOMPLET Berlin as a second production and distribution site in Germany is a response to the constantly growing demand. At the same time, it allows the KOMPLET brand to expand its presence in northern Germany.
In recent years, KOMPLET Berlin has been expanded into a modern and efficient production facility. As part of the successful development of the group of companies and certified to the highest food safety standards, KOMPLET Berlin contributes innovative ideas and consistent proximity and loyalty to its customers.

Something very special for almost 40 years: the genuine Sechskorn.
It was one of the first premixes for grain breads on the German market and has been one of the most popular and successful products among our customers ever since.
The genuine Sechskorn not only offers 6 different types of grain (oats, wheat, barley, rye, corn and millet), but also tasty seeds such as sesame, linseed and other high-quality aromatic ingredients.

A major milestone in the company’s history. With the establishment of the subsidiary Abel & Schafer Inc. in New York, USA, the company successfully crosses the Pond.
Abel & Schafer Inc. brings the same high quality standards to the growing markets in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America. Today, Abel & Schafer Inc. manufactures a wide range of products in modern production facilities in Ronkonkoma, New York. With warehouses and distributors throughout North and South America, Abel & Schafer Inc. is able to provide the same quality of service that bakers in Europe have enjoyed for many years.

Although Berliner doughnuts and Krapfen had their heyday in the colder months, their popularity also grew outside of the season.
The KOMPLET Spitzenberliner premix with butter in excellent premium quality impresses with its distinctly buttery aroma. The crumb is light and tender, and connoisseurs also appreciate its long shelf life and low fat absorption.
Our product can be used to create a wide variety of recipes, such as delicious yeast plaits, Danish pastries and much more.

In order to serve southern European countries faster and better, the sales company KOMPLET Italia is founded in Grassobbio, in the province of Bergamo.

The headquarters in Grassobbio (BG) is strategically located in northern Italy. It also has modern equipment and a modern laboratory for holding technical demonstrations for customers and developing new products and recipes!

As demand for KOMPLET products continues to grow steadily in southern Europe, another intra-European distribution company is being opened outside Germany: KOMPLET Ibérica.

The establishment of this branch in Terrassa, near Barcelona, as an important logistics hub, optimises distribution in Spain and Portugal and helps to meet the growing demand. A few years ago, the company moved into new premises in Polinyà, also in the Barcelona area.
This location has also proven to be very advantageous for serving orders from the Iberian Peninsula, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands.

Due to strong growth in Western Europe, another distribution company is established: KOMPLET Benelux in Luxembourg.

With its warehouse and comprehensive field service, KOMPLET is now able to process enquiries from this region even more efficiently.

Demand for fillings, ready-made doughs and frozen goods is rising in the North American market. The company Quality Bakery Products in Houston, Texas / USA is founded.

Quality Bakery Products acts as a manufacturer and supplier to the retail sector, wholesalers, in-store bakeries and food service and catering establishments. The products are produced under strict kosher supervision. The company is also SQF Level II certified.

Nordländer, a bread that really packs a punch.
Nordländer is characterised by an intense rye malt flavour and its long shelf life.
The many good ingredients (especially sunflower seeds) and the delicious, intense taste of rye malt make the compact Nordländer a real fast seller, popular with young and old alike.

Due to its location within a residential area, the production site in Völklingen quickly became too small. In order to expand further and meet demand, the company sought opportunities to increase its production volume. It found such an opportunity in Schoeneck (France), not far from the French border. A newly developed industrial park offered and continues to offer sufficient space to further expand production and establish new headquarters.

The Eastern European market is increasingly opening up. To respond to this situation, the KOMPLET Polska branch was established in Poznan, Poland.

In addition to many products manufactured specifically for the Polish market, a wide variety of frozen goods are also produced here. This plant is experiencing rapid growth and is currently the largest plant in the group and an important producer of KOMPLET products.

The particularly versatile classic.
This exceptionally light filling cream is characterised by its particularly high whipping volume. Thanks to its excellent suitability as a base cream for use with a wide variety of flavours, it enjoys extraordinary popularity among users and customers.

In order to better serve the growing demand in South-Eastern Europe, the cooperation partner Mühle Mantler has established the production and distribution company KOMPLET Mantler in Rosenburg, Austria.

The former mill, founded in 1607 and owned by the Mantler family since 1853, has been responsible for the regions of Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, among others, since the merger.

The steady demand for frozen baked goods, especially American specialities, has led to the establishment of a production facility for American baked goods in Schoeneck. The baked goods are sold under the Bakeline brand.

Since 1997, Bakeline has been producing and distributing fine frozen baked goods for wholesalers and industry. American baked goods specialities such as muffins, doughnuts and bagels have always been among the core product groups in the range. Through continuous modernisation and expansion in the area of production, this facility ensures the long-term, efficient and resource-saving manufacture of these trendy baked goods.

With KOMPLET Jogosoft, KOMPLET offers you a yoghurt premix for a wide range of applications. Delicious slices, sponge/sand cakes or mini cake variations made with Jogosoft fulfil every connoisseur’s dreams. KOMPLET Jogosoft stands out above all for its delicate, aromatic flavour and its efficient preparation and processing.

KOMPLET Wurzelbrot – authenticity and a natural bread flavour.

The trademark of KOMPLET Wurzelbrot bread is its rustic appearance. Beneath the crispy crust lies an incredibly tasty centre, characterised by large pores that leave plenty of room for aroma and freshness. This is due to the special composition, as only the best ingredients are used in the premix.
Another trick is the traditional processing method, which allows the dough sufficient time to mature and gives the bread its light texture.

KOMPLET Black Soft: The premix for making dark batter:
Unsurpassed in its chocolate flavour, moistness and freshness retention. Added to this are sophisticated, high-turnover application recipes that can be easily integrated into baking operations thanks to the batter being easy and efficient to process.

In 2005, the decision was made to provide better technical advice to customers in Switzerland. KOMPLET Switzerland was founded to better serve the market and meet country-specific requirements.

What is chia?
Chia is a plant species from the sage genus (Salvia hispanica) and originates from Mexico. Chia was an important food plant for the Aztecs. The seeds are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids for humans. They have a slightly nutty taste and are also very filling.

In 2015, the long-established Saarland company Brezel Ecker became part of the KOMPLET Group. The company specialises in all kinds of pretzel products and is characterised by its high level of innovation and flexibility in responding quickly to customer requests.

The bread innovation!
KOMPLET Our Körniges is our first premix for making wholemeal oat bread with seeds without added yeast. It contains the best natural ingredients with a high proportion of carefully selected grains and seeds. The exceptionally good taste, the special crumb structure and the above-average shelf life make this product an innovative speciality for true connoisseurs.

The foundation of the traditional flour mill Abel + Schäfer dates back to 1892, but for 60 years, Abel + Schäfer has been selling high-quality premixes worldwide under the KOMPLET brand name. In 1958, Fritz Claus Schäfer launched this success story and now in 2018, the company is looking forward to the 60th anniversary of the KOMPLET brand.

In June 2019, Komplet Polska celebrated its 25_th anniversary.
During this time, the company has developed rapidly. At its headquarters in Tarnowo Podgórne, KOMPLET Polska now has more than 300 employees and a state-of-the-art production facility for the production of pre-mixes and frozen products.
